Since my husband and I decided to downsize, we have had the “really fun” task of getting our house ready for show! When I started boxing up the unessentials, I was amazed at how many unessentials we surround ourselves with!
So now that my “soon to be someone else’s” house is just about ready for show, I thought I would share some before and after shots with you. I truly love this house but I am very ready for my next home design adventure!
Just a little about the house. I call it our “very Brady” abode! It was built in 1966 and was very much stuck in that era when we moved in in 2005 (and not in a GOOD, hip way!). We put our own little twist on it over the years. Hope you enjoy.

The cooktop directly beneath the cabinets was a fire hazard! The butcherblock counter had a built-in food processor with a cabinet full of attachments. OK, that was cool, but just did not seem sanitary to me! The double oven was nice but really, really small. The SubZero refrig was about to give out on us and the built-in AM radio and toaster was fun, but had to go. So this is our kichen today:
The main living area of the house features a two and one half story great room with overlooking loft space that we LOVE. This is how it looked when we bought the house…in all of its dated grasscloth glory!
Here is our great room today!
Stay tuned for shots of the family room, my boys rooms, and the master bedroom suite! And in honor of the handiwork of my very capable husband, I will include a gallery of the amazing evolved landscape!
