Project : Echoes – 09.10.10
I will never, ever tire of the beautiful intricacies found in natural wood grain. I have devoted several Echoes project drawings to the inherent properties of wood and here is another one. Interestingly enough, this image was found on the surface of a utility pole. It is almost ghostlike in appearance. It kind of reminds me of the white-faced scream guy in some strange way. I purposely chose this particular pattern for my subject because it is blatantly asymmetrical. Asymmetry happens to be one of my favorite ordering principles of design and is so effective when deliberately executed.
